Manifestation of Magick

Throughout the Time of Magick, certain mages who were especially gifted in the arts were able to imbue objects with magick. This proved to be particularly effective, as the object retained the residual effects of the magick, allowing the mage to have an unwavering supply at his or her disposal, whereas their innate abilities would be eventually drained. Though, with time, the mage would recuperate their powers, it was convenient to have instruments that could be used if needed.

However, the cost to the mage for making such objects was steep. The amount of magick imbued within an object was significantly less than what would be used to craft it in the first place. Additionally, the reserve of magick within the mage was diminished permanently, unable to recuperate with any given amount of time. It has been recorded that some mages forced others to imbue objects with their power to the point where the mage was no longer with magick.

With time, the crafting of objects was outlawed as to prevent blood feuds. Eventually, through countless years of experimenting and study, mages were able to craft rudimentary objects with trace amounts of power without sacrificing their own personal reserves. This practice is still in its infancy.
