As the other member of the Underraces, Gnomes are the tinkerers to the Dwarves muscle. Useful for crafting and creating the contraptions used beneath the Kaliois peaks. More intellectually inclined, they are often found busily busting their bottoms in their boisterous workshops. Unlike their distant cousins (which the Dwarves refute, but the Gnomes begrudgingly admit), they are seen to possess slightly more innate magick. Those found to possess the Craft tend to spend their time at Astyr as well, preferring to work with the stone and gems from their homelands. They have an unusual knack bringing to life automatons, though, as most will attest, this is highly discouraged. It is rumored (strictly among the Gnomes and with a sense of pride) that the powerful magick the mages possess was not the reason for the rule to not interfere with life on Delagraad but a Gnomish automaton gone haywire.
Gnomes find themselves sticking close to their roots creating gadgets and gizmos and most travel the lands doing so. Occasionally there are some with a taste of battle in their blood, and seek out a lifestyle geared toward fighting and combat. Most “sane” Gnomes deny this though, chalking the desire to fight up to experiments gone wrong in their youth.
