Not so long ago, Elves lived in harmony with the rest of the races of Delagraad. Naturally talented in the ways of magick, they were some of the first to discover its properties. They, together with the Humans, created the Laws that govern magick and established the towers. Along with the Dwarves and Gnomes, they constructed the testaments to power, and, through the Time of Magick, prospered.
In the Human’s recorded histories, there have only been eight Elven Speakers, the most recent being Ferenilas Riverwood. His death, at the hands of his son, Brienalas, ushered in the beginning of the Calm. No one outside of the Elven lands of Tanstilanestyr knows why the young Prince of the Elves slit his father’s throat, they just know of the thirty-two year horror that followed.
Not enough time has passed to heal the fresh wounds of the wars, and no Elves had dared attempt reconciliation following the destruction and raping of their land following the Reckoning. To this day, Elves are looked at as a vile race, capable of impure and unholy acts. They Elves likely view the rest of Delagraad similarly.
